I don’t really get why people say their style inspiration is themselves, I mean I get that they wear what they like, but where did they see it? Did they see it in a store? Or was it an outfit someone was wearing? I mean they didn’t create the clothes themselves, so obviously its also someone else’s style.. Now for those people who do make their own clothes and own the look, kudos to you! But what gave you the idea to make what you have made? Ya know? Style is very hard to be unique with and try to make something no one else has made. Trends repeat over the years and the same kinds of clothes get circulated around and new one’s are created to look like the old styles. I guess that its all in how you look at things.

Anyways I have really been on a serious fashion kick and I was just on Seventeen Magazines website and I came across the Style Wars Style contest and soo many of these girls were saying that they were their own inspiration and it just got me thinking about it.

So onto other things…

I think I’m slowly forming a pretty solid love for vests. I really want to get one. At first I wasn’t a huge fan, but as I continue to see them around they are starting to really grow on me. Throw a vest on a plain tee and some jeans and it takes it to a whole other level, then with the right accessories your outfit looks complete. Love it.

I love this Pure & Simple sleeveless vest. I like how its not fitted and it flow-y. I think it would work nicely for girls like me who are a little self conscious to help hide things they don’t want to show. It would put a little flair on any tank and jeans.

This ISDA & CO vest is amazing. I love the color and again just the way its flow-y in the front. The only thing I would say that I dont absolutely love is the back.

Its a racerback and although I am a fan of racerback tanks I’m not sure how I feel about it with a regular tank. I think I would have to try it with a racerback tank as well, but that is all about personal preference. Overall I love this vest.

I love love love this Juicy Couture dress. What can I say about it that you can’t see with your own eyes? Its amazing.

This Free People dress is adorable. I love the print. I would most definitely rock this. =]

Love these Steve Madden Sandals! ahhhhh LOVE.

This Free People tunic is lovely. I am in love with it. Theres different ways you can wear it. You can put a leather jacket over it and go for the rocker look, you could wear it with no jacket, or you could even put a tweed jacket over it like this one….

Love this dress. Its another Free People dress. And I think it would look great with a leather jacket over it and a cute pair of booties. Get the rocker vibe goin’ =]

things to do, and fashion galore

I have recently decided that I need a complete makeover. Body, mind and soul. I have been thinking a lot about things lately and I just don’t like the place I am at in my life right now. I feel like I need to make some changes because I’m just in a funk right now, or something of that nature. I don’t want to be like this anymore so I am going to get off my ass and do something about it. wooo haha.

so I am going to make a checklist of things that I would like to do to better my situation and to make myself feel better so I can be in a better mood so I don’t ruin everyones mood.

1. FIND A JOB!

man does the economy fucking suck right now. but I am still going to do my best to get applications in and see what I can find. I need to make some money, for sure.

2. Start eating better.

Recently my stomach has been getting upset with pretty much everything I put in it. So I need to start eating healthier and more regular to see if I can fix that issue.

3.Start taking more pictures and working on my other art projects more.

I feel like I have been neglecting my photography and my drawings. I need to get back into it and keep going. Its something I love doing it just gets pushed to the bottom of the list a lot, and I don’t want it to anymore.

4. Make a decision about what I want to go to school for.

I keep putting it off and putting it off but I need to get back into school or I never will. Technically I was enrolled at the art institute of pittsburgh online division for like a week, but the financial aid wasn’t working out so i had to pull out and now I am back to debating between cosmetology school or photography. I have a huge passion for both and ultimately I would like to go to school for both but I have to decide which I want to do first.

5. update wardrobe.

I don’t even like getting dressed anymore. I don’t feel like putting any effort into it because my clothes don’t fit me anymore, and I’m just tired of them. So I really want to work on getting some clothes that will fit me and I will be comfortable in. and while some may find that a stupid thing to be on the list, it is something that will make me feel better about myself, and something I feel like I deserve. If you don’t like it you can suck it. =]

So that’s just a few things I can think of at the moment that I need to change or do something about. I’m sure there’s more, there’s always more. But I think that’s a good start. on a lighter note, while I was surfin’ the web browsing at clothes and accessories I came across some major things. I want these in my life sooooo bad. so I am going to share them with you.

I absolutely love this Michael Kors watch. Ughhhh and at the bargain price of only $195.00 (I soo need a job NOW!) Theres a bunch of different bright colors too, they are all amazing. <3

These sandals are seriously major. They are also Michael Kors and I am in heaven. At a mere $1,295.00 how could you say no? These will forever be on my wish list.

What could go wrong in these? They are absolutely amazing. Jimmy Choo. Genius.

I absolutely adore this Jimmy Choo clutch. It’d give a little kick to any plain outfit. And I love animal print. mmm leopard and zebra prints are the beesstt. <3

Since I’m already on the subject of Jimmy Choo and Animal prints, these Jimmy Choo’s are amazing as well, and go with the clutch =]

DVF is absolutely amazing and I adore this romper. I really reallly want it! blahh

This Juicy Couture skirt is adorable. love it.

I love this Martha Rey bikini, but definitely not on me. I love tye dye though and the colors are amazing.

This Alice+Olivia dress is amazing. you could really change it up depending on which accessories and shoes you wear with it. I love clothes you can mix up and change the look just by putting on different accessories.

I really like the beachy, natural accessories right now, considering I make my own hemp jewelry and what not, so I really love this Monies necklace. <3

Well I think thats enough for today, I could go on forever, seeing as though Im still looking through a bunch of things as I write this. I will post more soon. Enjoy <3 let me know what you think of the the things I’ve shared! =]

sometimes we can’t all just get along.

You know, in the past I have usually been the one to say “can’t we all just get along” when my friends would fight with each other. And when you’re younger, I think that everyone should just get a long and be kids and have fun. Now, I’m an adult, and that phrase just doesn’t seem to fit when I get into an argument with someone. The friend I talked about in an earlier post, the “copy cat” has tried to make contact with me again. She sent me a friend request on facebook. I was pretty shocked to see that little button at the top light up, and even more shocked to see it was her. Now, I have already had a horrid weekend.. my girlfriend bailed on me for the weekend to go to the dog track with her mom. She told me she would be back today but they still haven’t left yet to make the long drive home so I am pretty sure they are not coming home today, so basically I’m stuck here at my house, just waiting, and I am a very impatient person. But anyways, I’m getting off track here, back to the copy cat. So I seen her friend request then I sent her a message and asked her why she was even bothering to send me a friend request after all the bullshit and she said “I was just wondering how you were doing”

What the hell is the point of that, really? Why do you care how I am doing when you got pissed at me over nothing and stopped talking to me? Why do you care when you stopped talking to me and started becoming best friends with the one person I cannot fucking tolerate at all. Are you running out of friends now? No one to steal from? Are you fiending?
I think that I am one of those people, that have just been walked over and fucked over too many times to even care about having friends anymore. Honestly, it hurts to even think that way, but I really think that is whats happening to me. I just don’t care anymore. I really don’t. My friends have all let me down too many times in one way or another. So has my family. I have become quite the hermit lately and I really think thats why. I just give up.

online education..and a twitter rant.

So I know its been a few since my last post, I apologize.

I did some thinking, and I requested information for AiPO (The Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online) and now I am enrolled and already starting classes. Today was the first day of class and its only been a week? I am very excited to finally be back in school doing what I want to do. Instead of what everyone else feels is “right”

The courses I will be taking will be the same as being on campus, just over the computer. That is another thing I am very excited about. I was skeptical thinking it might just be some BS, but so far, so good.

Now I have to rant about twitter a little..

Seriously, are people really that obsessed with twitter that they feel the need to freak out because it says they have no followers? I mean REALLY? What is the world coming to that people would make such a big deal about a temporary mess up from the makers? Monday I got on twitter, after neglecting it for a few weeks and all I see were tweets from people freaking out cause their followers weren’t showing up. I mean seriously, its a site to let people know what you’re doing. Why is it so serious if the number said zero? people still seen you’re freaking updates, you could still see other peoples updates. So what’s the big deal? People need to get a grip on reality again. They spend too much time on the computer doing useless things like tweeting every five minutes, instead of getting outside and enjoying life..

Is online college a waste of time?

Hello boys and girls!

Since my last post I have been thinking a lot about going back to school for photography, online. I seen that The Art Institute of Pittsburgh now has online courses and that was the school I originally wanted to attend. So now my question is, is it a waste of time? I have heard people say that some online schools mean nothing when you’re finished, like it doesn’t mean as much as being on campus and getting your degree. Is that true?

I feel this is something I am really ready to do. I feel like a complete bum sitting at home without a job and not doing anything and I really want to go back to school. So I just finished requesting information and hopefully I will hear from them tomorrow. I am ready to get my life back on track, I am just nervous about it being a waste of time and energy..and money. Although I am a single parent so hopefully I can get the financial issues taken care of. Also, its not one of those random online schools that no one has ever heard of, this is a major art school that now has the option of online schooling..so…any input?

This is just a short post for now, I will update again soon I’m sure with the information I found out as well as a new topic. If you have any input, feel free to leave some comments =] I am definitely interested in hearing thoughts of others. =]

Why do girls always feel the need to one-up each other? I mean, best friends going at it just to try and be better than each other? Is that really how all girls are or are those just the assholes I attract? I had a friend, she was my best friend. We hung out all the time and did stuff and had fun, but I couldn’t help but notice that she was always trying to one-up me. Trying to make herself better than me, and she wasn’t being too discrete about it either. What the hell is up with that? I mean I get the whole wanting to better yourself thing, but I mean SERIOUSLY. I start seriously thinking about getting my bachelors in photography, but I have to wait to start school for personal reasons…and you just come out of the shadows and start majoring in photography. Yeah people may be thinking “what? she can’t like photography too?” And that’s not what I am saying at all. What I am saying is, she has never been as passionate about it as me, and it wasn’t what she wanted to do until I said something about it. And she couldn’t even make it through her first year. She has already dropped out and sold her camera. She was too busy skipping classes to go hang out with people then to actually focus and do what she needed to.

Another thing is that I have been making jewelry since I was about 9. I have always loved it, and I always will. Its fun and its just a calm activity I can do when I’m relaxing and watching a movie or something. But recently in the past year I started to pick up on making jewelry more. I have plans to sell my jewelry at flea markets and festivals over the summer so I don’t have to have a conventional job, because I really don’t like being tied to certain rules and dress codes. So I plan to sell my hemp jewelry, some of my photography and some chalk drawings and paintings I’ve done. And when I first started making this plan here she comes, with a bag of hemp and some hemp jewelry books. I mean COME ON! Seriously? I don’t want to be friends with myself, so please stop trying to be like me!

Luckily I am no longer on speaking terms with this girl..other wise I think I’d be in a mental institution right about now. She’s a thief and a liar. And we ended our friendship so she could go be BFFs with a girl she talked so much crap about its insane. I happen to not be a fan of the girl shes now best friends with, so I hope they have lots of fun screwing each other over. I’m just glad I don’t have to deal with it anymore.

Okay, enough with the high school BS.

Well, I’m going to try something new..

Anytime I start a journal. I never seem to keep up with it. or people don’t really know what it is I’m talking about. So I think my first entry should tell you a little bit about myself.

Well, my name is…..

let’s just say you can call me Lucy. For the sake of things that could come up or happen in the future, I’d like to just go by Lucy.

I live in a city in northeast Ohio.. Talk about boring. The only thing to do around here is go to a local show, or a strip club.. Now don’t get me wrong. I love going to shows. I love supporting local bands….when they don’t suck.

No I’m not bashing on any bands..I’m just saying. I’m unemployed right now anyways so I couldn’t support them if I wanted to, hah. I am a single parent.. far too young. I am 21 and my son is 4. Yes, boys and girls. I was a teenage mom. Not much of a surprise these days I suppose, since girls are poppin’ out babies like they are a Pez dispenser. I have a crazy dad, a work-a-holic mother, a crazy sister, and an older brother that keeps to himself.

I’m stuck living with my parents…still. Its probably the worst thing in my life right now.. and no, I’m not over dramatic for saying that. This place is my personal hell. But when I get out, there’s no turning back..

I have a girlfriend. We have been dating for eight months and its the first relationship I have had with a girl, and I hope it will be my last. I love her more than anything in the world.. and it kills me that I can’t fully come out to everyone and let them know that I found my other half.

And the reason I can’t is, because within the past few years my dad has become very religious. He is a very strong Christian and he has very strong beliefs. I am also christian, however, I don’t go overboard with it. Nor do I shove it down anyone’s throat. And I believe that God wants us to be happy, right? And if I have found that person that can make me smile no matter what, who makes me happier than I have ever been and treats me like a princess, then what does it matter what body parts they have? I’m happy and safe and healthy, that is what should matter. But I really do need a roof over my head, as well as my sons, so I can’t take the risk of getting kicked out and disowned at the moment.

Well,unfortunately I am getting pretty tired. So this is to be continued.. But never fear boys and girls! I am unemployed, so I will probably continue tomorrow afternoon. hah.
